Laurence has a lifetime of experience providing accounting and advisory services to first, several prestigious companies, and then eventually as the cofounder and co-managing partner of Skody Scot & Company, a NYC based CPA firm formed that specializes in providing auditing, consulting, 990 preparation and other professional services to local, national and international Not-For-Profit (NFP) organizations.
He is certified in NJ and NY, has an MBA from Pace University, written peer-reviewed articles and two desk reference books, taught undergraduate and graduate classes at several colleges, (currently at St. Francis College), been lecturing and giving seminars to CPAs, Directors & Officers, lawyers, bankers, management and other professionals for over 30 years. And was the creator of several unique in-class and online accounting and reporting certificate programs. Mr. Scot has received a number of awards for his civic activities including Citation for Community Service from the Manhattan Borough President and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Crain’s New York Business.
